The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models will feature more significant camera upgrades. The main sensor will retain its 48 MP resolution, with an f/1.78 aperture, and will be able to capture 12 MP telephoto photos with 2x optical zoom.

These models will also include a 12 MP telephoto lens providing 5x optical zoom. The ultra-wide camera will be 48 MP with a 0.7-micron pixel size. Apple will offer 48 MP resolution photos in ProRaw format, which will provide more editable data.

All iPhone 16 series models are expected to support a new image format called JPEG-XL, in addition to the existing HEIF and JPEG formats. The iPhone 16 Pro models will be capable of recording 3K video at 120 fps and will offer Dolby Vision support.

Apple will also introduce a new capture button on all models in this series. This button will be located on the lower right side of the device, allowing for easy access during horizontal use.
